The building blocks:
1. Efficient strength training that builds lean mass
… lowering your risk of injury and bone fracture
2. Cardio and everyday movement that pushes your heart and lungs
… boosting your longevity
3. A nutritious diet that fuels your daily needs
… supporting healthy body composition and function
“Taking control” means knowing what to do now so you can do all the things you want to do for life. I’d love to help you figure out what this looks like for you.
Here’s my story
I was an athletic kid, but as I got older, my health took a backseat to my fast-growing career in consulting. I’d always tell myself that fitness was a “big rock” (see visual below), but in reality I treated it like sand, squeezing in a quick run when a meeting got cancelled or rushing to a yoga class when I could sign off early.
My diet was all over the place. As a busy consultant traveling four days a week, I would often delay or skip meals, snack on junk foods, and order heavy entrees late at night. All while telling myself, “I’m pretty healthy… I care a lot about my health!”
No more “on again, off again”
Finally, I changed my mindset, immersed myself in the science, and took action. I was still working 60+ hours and traveling every week, but with simple adjustments to my lifestyle and diet, and an efficient training plan that I enjoyed, I lost 22 pounds of body fat, gained 4 pounds of muscle, and got a lot stronger in just over a year.
With all the amazing changes I felt, and habits that had become my new baseline, I raised my bar higher and finished a half-Ironman — one of my childhood dreams! For the first time in my professional life, I was in the driver’s seat with my fitness.
I became the coach I wish I had, focusing on effective training and lifestyle change in the context of a busy life. I’ll help you get the most out of the time you DO have, stop worrying about the time you don’t have, and see real results.
What my clients have said
Project Leader at Boston Consulting Group ★★★★★ ”I used to feel like I was failing every time my 65+ hour work week made it impossible for me to keep up with all the training programs I kept trying. Karen flipped that script: we anchor two focused sessions on the weekend, treat any weekday movement as a bonus, and suddenly fitness feels doable and delivers results. By creating a plan that slides into my schedule instead of fighting it, Karen put me back in control of my health. Now, I actually look forward to every workout. If you want a coach who removes the guilt and gets straight to what works, work with Karen!!”
Senior Product Manager at Early Stage Startup ★★★★★ ”I moved to a new city last year, and felt my fitness slipping away from me as I scrambled to create a new routine, make new friends, and adjust to my new job. Karen was so good at breaking down my big goals into attainable steps and wins, so that new habits could actually stick and build on each other over weeks and months. I learned so much from her about how to train and eat well, but also how to make informed tradeoffs so I could truly enjoy life to the fullest!
